Welcome to the new site!

Sometime between December 2014 and October 2020 I lost the log-in details for my Living With CLL blog which I started back in 2009 when I was first diagnosed.

The blog charted my progress through the various stages of my treatment leading up to Nov 1st 2010 when I was given the all clear.

After that I posted updates every few months usually following hospital appointments with the specialist. I also posted about other medical conditions that may have stemmed from my lack of an immune system.

I was diagnosed with Crohns in 2011 and this brought about further changes to my lifestyle. Then in the autumn of 2014 I developed a heart condition called Atrial Fibrilation. I was coming up to retirement so I never went back to work after that.

I've been kept busy. My attitude throughout the last ten years has been this:

Don't dwell on the things that you can no longer do, but concentrate on what you can do.

I had to relearn how to use my home recording studio. Since 2011 I have recorded/released five albums under my own name, plus a 4cd retrospective box set of my gospel songs.

I've produced a number of albums for friends, including an album for my friend Jerry Arhelger that was originally recorded back in 2008.

I've learned how to write. Since 2017 I've written and published five volumes of autobiography, plus a book about my family history.

In 2020 I published the first part of a biography of a pioneer of the British recording industry, Derek Tompkins. Reviews have been very good and Waterstones will be stocking it.

Next year I hope to publish the second volume of his story plus a local history book about the part of town where I live.

I say it again- Don't dwell on the things that you can no longer do, but concentrate on what you can do.
